Fine PORTAFLAME SG grades are produced from carefully selected, synthetic aluminium hydroxide (ATH).This range of fine PORTAFLAME SG grades offers the formulator the opportunity to incorporate ATH in different polymer systems (even at high loading level). These finer grades are preferred over standard grades when good surface quality is needed, without having a negative impact on colour. Furthermore, these finest grades offer slightly more opacity and better FR performance.Fine PORTAFLAME SG grades are milled halogen-free flame retardant (HFFR) fillers, used in a broad range of applications. The mechanism of flame-retardancy is mainly based on the endothermic decomposition of the aluminium hydroxide (heat-sink effect) while simultaneously releasing water vapour. This reaction starts at about 200°C.Fine PORTAFLAME SG grades are not classified as a dangerous substance (DSD and CLP) and do not contain Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC).
