BYK-1630

BYK-1630 is a VOC- and APEO-free mineral oil defoamer that is effective in aqueous systems. BYK-1630 contains small quantities of a coating-compatible silicone and is recommended for use in emulsion paints and plasters within a PVC range of 30-85. BYK-1630 enhances the defoaming action and prevents cratering in coatings. It contains no volatile organic compounds and is suitable for products requiring a greener profile. The additive is especially effective to reduce foaming in water-based applications and improves the quality and uniformity of finished surfaces. BYK-1630 is recommended for aqueous epoxy top coats and dispersion adhesives, such as acrylate, polyurethane, and polyvinyl alcohol dispersions.
