PROTECTOL GA 50

Protectol® GA 50 is a colorless to slightly yellow liquid containing 50% glutaraldehyde (CAS: 111-30-8), known for its sharp, pungent odor. It is used as a biocidal agent for in-can preservation, as a slimicide, and for corrosion inhibition. This highly effective antimicrobial targets a wide spectrum of microorganisms, including bacteria and yeasts, with increased activity under alkaline conditions. Its mode of action involves cross-linking with proteins and enzymes in microbial cells, leading to irreversible cell damage and death. While it demonstrates rapid efficacy, higher concentrations may be needed in the presence of organic material.
