Acrylic acid glacial is an unsaturated monocarboxylic acid used for manufacturing polymers and as a feedstock for syntheses. It reacts as a vinyl compound and as a carboxylic acid. Homopolymers of ACRYLIC ACID GLACIAL and copolymers containing it have a glassy consistency and are frequently water-soluble. They can be used as thickeners, dispersing agents, and flocculants in Industrial Solutions, stabilizing emulsions and polymer dispersions. ACRYLIC ACID GLACIAL readily undergoes addition reactions, making it very useful for producing low molecular compounds and derivatives useful to Industrial Solutions like unsaturated fatty acids, heterocyclic compounds, and Diels-Alder addition products.
