BYK 327 is a polyether-modified polydimethylsiloxane additive that improves leveling and substrate wetting in solvent-borne, solvent-free, radiation-curable and aqueous systems. BYK 327 has little effect on increasing surface slip and reducing surface tension. It usually has no negative effect on foam stabilization. BYK 327 is suitable for both water-based and solvent-borne OPVs. In industrial applications, it performs well in 2-component polyaspartic systems. BYK 327 also has a defoaming effect in floor coatings based on 2-component polyaspartics, epoxy and polyurethane. BYK 327 can be incorporated during any stage of the production process, including post-addition. It improves leveling and wetting, and prevents the formation of Bénard cells. BYK 327 also acts as a defoamer/air release agent during production and application.
