CLAYRAC SMD is a chamotte calcined in rotary kiln, from kaolinic clay of the Charentes basin in South West of France. It has a bulk density of 2.32 and apparent porosity of 10%. CLAYRAC SMD contains 38.5% Al2O3 and 56.7% SiO2 along with other minerals that provide benefits for applications. Its low water absorption of 4.3% and thermal expansion properties make it suitable for withstanding temperatures up to 600°C. CLAYRAC SMD offers enhanced durability and longevity due to its mullite content and particle size distribution for various finishing and protection applications.
