RHEOBYK 440 is a liquid rheology additive based on a polyamide that improves anti-sagging and anti-settling properties as well as pigment orientation in aqueous coating systems. It is extremely shear-thinning. RHEOBYK 440 forms a three-dimensional network structure when used with pigments and fillers, increasing viscosity especially at low shear rates. Its strong shear-thinning properties ensure optimum handling and processability of coatings. Rapid structure recovery after shearing provides outstanding anti-sagging and leveling properties along with excellent effect pigment orientation. These characteristics make RHEOBYK 440 suitable for use in aqueous protective and industrial coatings.
