DISPERBYK-161 is a high performance wetting and dispersing additive suitable for stabilizing pigments with fine particle sizes. Particularly recommended for inorganic and organic pigments used in advanced material coatings and pigment concentrates. DISPERBYK-161 provides outstanding reduction of millbase viscosity and helps achieve uniform dispersion of pigments. As a result, it increases properties like gloss, color strength and transparency of coatings. It also helps reduce defects and improves performance of advanced material coatings. DISPERBYK-161 acts as a dispersant by providing equal electrical charge and steric hindrance between pigment particles. This prevents flocculation and leads to better color, higher hiding power and reduced viscosity. It is ideally suited for stabilizing carbon blacks and organic pigments used in advanced material coating systems.
