BYK-4500

BYK 4500 is a high performance adhesion promoter and additive that improves bond strength between substrates and coatings. BYK 4500 contains special adhesion promoting groups that attract to coating interfaces. It enhances wet and dry adhesion on surfaces like aged coatings, metals and composites. BYK 4500 improves early water resistance of coatings as well. It is suitable for aqueous and solvent-borne coating systems. BYK 4500 improves adhesion in applications involving bonding to oxidized metals and galvanized substrates commonly used in construction. The additive provides excellent adhesion without negatively impacting other coating properties like hardness, flexibility and gloss. BYK 4500 maintains stability even during high temperature curing and does not cause yellowing of coatings.
