CARAMEL COLOUR 4700 PW is the dark brown liquid or solid material resulting from the carefully controlled heat treatment of food-grade carbohydrates. Certain food-grade acids, alkalis and salts may be employed to assist caramelization. 4700PW is a Class IV Caramel Color and one of our darkest colors. It is suitable for powder mixes like spice blends (pepper for example), baking premixes, Pet Food, and confectionery. In addition, it can be used as coffee or black tea extender. Powder Caramel Color often work best in dry blend applications and they have a longer shelf life than liquid Caramel Colors.
