CARADVANCED® 1140S is a caramel colour E150a (“class I”), of neutral to slightly negative colloidal charge, obtained by controlled heat treatment of food carbohydrates. Thanks to its fantastic acid stability, 1140S is THE clean-label Caramel Color for soft drinks. Its strong tinctorial power makes it a competitive product to substitute some Class IV Caramel Color while keeping the label simple. To promote the caramelization acids, basis or salts can be used except sulfite and ammonium compounds.
