Beneo-scL85 is a food ingredient (liquid) consisting mainly of shortchain fructooligosaccharides enzymatically produced from sugar. Fructooligosaccharides consist of fructose units linked together by B-(2,1)-linkages. The fructose chains are terminated by a glucose unit. The number of fructose and glucose units in short-chain fructooligosaccharides (Degree of Polymerization = DP) ranges mainly between 3 and 4. Appearance: viscous syrup, clear to slightly yellow. Oligofructose is an inulin-type fructan and is derived from Inulin through partial enzymatic hydrolysis. This conversion is a process that occurs naturally within the chicory root towards the end of the harvest. It can therefore be said to be of 100% vegetable origin. After enzymatic hydrolysis, purification is continued in order to meet even the highest quality requirements, including those for infant nutrition.
