Candelilla wax consists of hydrocarbons, esters, phytosterols, free fatty acids, free fatty alcohols and resins. This hard vegetable wax is mainly used for sticks. It provides good mould release, firmness and surface gloss. Can be combined with carnauba, beeswax and other waxes where it improves skinfeel, adhesion and pay-off properties. Because of its hardness and relatively high melting point it increases the softening point. It has extraordinary oil retention properties and improves stability and texture.
